Scorpion Releasing & Kino Lorber present A Candle for the Devil on DVD February 24th

A CANDLE FOR THE DEVIL (1973) , aka IT HAPPENED AT NIGHTMARE INN, is getting a new DVD release from Scorpion releasing on February 24th, coming from the director of the chiller classic HORROR EXPRESS!

Scorpion Releasing and Kino Lorber announce the DVD release of A CANDLE FOR THE DEVIL, Eugene Martin's cult horror film starring Judy Geeson (Berserk) about a woman who arrives in a small Spanish town to find that one of her sisters has mysteriously disappeared. She stays to help search for the sister, but soon, strange events begin occurring. It is presented here in a new HD transfer, uncut for the first time in the U.S.

A CANDLE FOR THE DEVIL will street on February 24th, with a SRP of $19.95, in a brand new 16x9 HD master, re-color corrected for optimum picture. Special features include a brand new on-camera interview with star Judy Geeson, the original trailer, and the option to watch with or without the Nightmare Theater mode.

Synopsis: Laura Barkley (Judy Geeson, BerserkTo Sir With Love) travels to a sleepy Spanish town to visit her sister, who is staying at an inn run by two religious women. But when Laura arrives, she discovers that her sister has mysteriously disappeared. The two women, Marta and Veronica, tell Laura that her sister left suddenly but no one has seen her leave the village. Laura decides to stay at the inn whilst searching for her sister but soon discovers that the self-righteous women cannot bear the nakedness and promiscuity of young English holiday-makers. One by one, these pleasure seekers begin to disappear. Meanwhile, the sisters' evening meals begin to take on an unusual flavor....

This deliciously deranged and atmospheric horror, which was shot entirely on location in Spain, is available in the U.S. uncut for the very first time and in a brand new HD master.
