Kino Lorber and Redemption Release Jess Franco's 'The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein' (1972)

Available on Blu-ray and DVD July 28th, mastered in HD from the original 35 negative, featuring audio commentary by Tim Lucas

Kino Lorber and Redemption announce the release of THE EROTIC RITES OF FRANKENSTEIN, a film by celebrated Spanish horror auteur Jess Franco. Set to street on Blu-ray and DVD July 28th, with a SRP of $29.95 for the Blu-ray and $24.95 for the DVD, this edition is mastered in HD from the original 35mm negative, and features an audio commentary by Tim Lucas, editor of Video Watchdog magazine, the French language soundtrack with optional English subtitles, an alternate English-dubbed soundtrack, and the original theatrical trailer.

After the death of Victor Frankenstein (Dennis Price), two figures vie for control of his metallic-skinned monster (Fernando Bilbao) and the radical technology that created him: the scientist's daughter, Vera (Beatriz Sav√≥n), and the immortal wizard Cagliostro (Howard Vernon), who is assisted by a blind bird-woman with an unquenchable thirst for blood (Anne Libert).

With THE EROTIC RITES OF FRANKENSTEIN, controversial filmmaker Jess Franco merges his fondness for old-school horror with his unique and perverse tastes in sex and violence, partly inspired by the garish adult European comics of the early 1970s.
