Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: The Complete Series (2018-2023) collects all 4 seasons of the riveting Amazon series, a glossy, high-octane, and explosive spy thriller starring John Krasinski (A Quiet Place) as CIA analyst Jack Ryan as he's thrust into dangerous field assignments in different countries across the globe. All four seasons are presented in 2160p UHD widescreen, each season presented in a different aspect ratio for whatever reason, with seasons 1-2 getting DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio and HDR10, while seasons 3-4 gets Dolby Atmos audio and HDR10 Dolby Vision upgrades. This set is a re-package of the four previous individual seasons, with nothing new added, no Blu-ray counterparts, and no digital codes. Curiously this four season set is packaged in an oversized DVD case with flipper trays housing the discs, which seems a strange choice, it feels cheap and the disc kept falling out of mine, which felt slightly warped, perhaps by the heat of the Arizona sun during shipping. Regardless, the A/V presentation for all four seasons is top-notch, looking superior to their 4K streaming versions, and two seasons into the show I am good and hooked. along with my wife.

Cartoon Network's The Powerpuff Girls was an animated series that ran for six seasons, when my own kids were younger there were not a lot of toons that appealed to both them and myself to be honest, but this was one of the ones I actually liked at the time, and they loved. Set in the city of Townsville, where Professor Utonium and his three superpowered kindergarten-aged girls Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, protect the town from a myriad of villainous and baddies, their nemesis being the bad-monkey named Mojo Jojo and his evil-monkey minions. The show was vivid and vibrant, the girl-power themes were wonderful, and while the three young girls had superpowers they had to deal with a lot of age-appropriate issues as well. The show looked phenomenal the first couple of seasons with series creator Craig McCracken (Dexter's Laboratory) teamed-up with Genndy Tartakovsky (Primal), having a retro Hannah-Barbera 60's pop-art style about. This set has been out of print for a minute so kudos to WBDHE for putting in back in print, even if they didn't give us an HD upgrade. The complete series, all 78 episodes of the six season run, are collected on 12 DVD discs housed inside an clear, high-capacity Epik Pak keepcase, loaded with hours upon hours of extras, with cool artwork and a side-loading slipcover with the same artwork.
