SEVERIN CELEBRATES THE MOST ICONIC NAME IN EROTIC CINEMA WITH LANDMARK BOX SET
11-Disc SAGA EROTICA: THE EMMANUELLE COLLECTION Includes 4 UHD Premieres, Plus 15+ Combined Hours of Special Features, 2 Soundtrack CDs & More
Severin Films announces their 11-disc collection honoring the legendary erotica that changed cinema forever and whose global legacy endures today. SAGA EROTICA: THE EMMANUELLE COLLECTION showcases the four films that launched the groundbreaking erotic persona and remain the indelible foundation of the series: EMMANUELLE, EMMANUELLE 2, GOODBYE EMMANUELLE and I, EMMANUELLE.
1974’s global sensation EMMANUELLE launched the career of star Sylvia Kristel, revolutionized portrayals of female sensuality on screen and cemented itself as the decade’s seminal erotic work worldwide. Reprising her role twice more, Kristel again starred in 1975’s EMMANUELLE 2 – showcasing a lush soundtrack by Academy Award winner Francis Lai – and in 1977’s GOODBYE EMMANUELLE – which marks the final embrace of the original trilogy. The fourth disc in the collection is actually the first; the rarely-seen 1969 Italian production I, EMMANUELLE starring Erika Blanc and inspired by the then-newly published memoir from Emmanuelle Arsan. All four films have been scanned in 4K from their original camera negatives with 15+ combined hours of new & archival Special Features, 2 Bonus Soundtrack CDs and a 128-page booklet of original essays, Sylvia Kristel artwork and more.
The box set is also available in The Softcore/Hardcover Bundle, which includes Sylvia Kristel: From Emmanuelle to Chabrol – “A gorgeous coffee-table book, a titanic tome and a proper tribute to the ethereal beauty and undeniable spark of the late Sylvia Kristel” (McBastard’s Mausoleum) – by author/historian Jeremy Richey. The 334-page hardcover explores the uncompromising career of Sylvia Kristel film by film featuring all-new interviews, over 200 poster art images and photos, vintage reviews and interviews with Kristel never before translated into English and much more.
