In the low-budget sexploitation cheapie Delinquent Schoolgirls (1975) aka Carnal Madness, directed by Greg Corarito (The Sadistic Hypnotist) and co-written by producers John Lamb (Mondo Keyhole, The Zodiac Killer) and Maurice Smith (Julie Darling), three inmates from the State Asylem for the Criminally Insane, yep that's how it spelled on the sign, make a brazen daytime escape. We have the well-chiseled ex-baseball player turned rapist "Big Dick" Peters (Bob Minor, Foxy Brown), the criminally queer fashion designer Bruce (Stephen Stucker, Airplane!), and the defector ringleader, z-grade impressionist Carl C. Clooney (Michael Pataki, Graduation Day). Soon after fleeing the asylum they end up at the farm of Earl (George 'Buck' Flower, Tammy and the T-Rex), a booze-hound farmer who's wife Ellie, farmer's wife (Julie Grant) is starving for some sexual satisfaction . The trio peep through the windows and find Earl drinking alone while watching the tube while his horny wife is in the bedroom masturbating with a vibrator. The men break in and sort of hold Earl hostage and ply him with alcohol while Dick starts raping his wife n the next room. Things get weird real fast here, it's one of those rape scene s that is played for laughs, the wife love the stiff one she's getting from Dick, but scream like she's being tormented for the benefit of her drunk hubby, who is in the next room drinking booze and singing "Old McDonald had a Farm" with Bruce and Carl, asking them to lock him in the closet so that at least his wife thinks he tried to "rescue" her from Big Dick.
The next stop on their escapee tour is the nearby Oxford Corrective Institute for Young Women, campus for wayward women, where the student have just left campus for summer break, with the exception of a few of the bad girls who have been kept behind by the institute's director Mr. Baxter (John Alderman, Cleopatra Jones), also staying behind to keep the young women learned and physically fit are biology teacher Mr. Miles (Ralph Campbell, Hollywood 90028) and physical educator Ms. Nancy Crowley (Zoe Grant). Before the trio of escapees arrives we see the student being called to an assembly where each of the young women are singled-out for their bad behavior, one of the young women in this scenes has a freaking long ass tongue that was pretty notable. A lot of the girls her ended up in porno or titty mags, and while I don't know her name, that extended appendage might have been put to good use! The girls kept behind include Penny Archer (Brenda Miller), super-busty Carla Gray, (Roberta Pedon), Madeline Mulligan, blondie (Betty Johnson), ginger Greta Anderson (Colleen Brennan, The Beast and the Vixens, SuperVixens), Sandy Turner (Kay Lange) and teachers pet Betsy Benton (Jane Steele, B.J. and the Bear) who has an inexplicable crush on the much older Mr. Miller.
Even before the mentals show-up things are word at school. when Betsy accompanies Mr. Miller home, carrying a stack of book for him, and then he roofies her tea and hypnotizes her using a stuffed hawk, before stripping off her clothes and sexually assaulting her with a snake! Once they do show up they raid the campus kitchen and have a encounter with the busty cooks (Anne Barry, Marian Ghika), some slapstick rough stuff occurs, there's rape, and then the next scene the girl are all cool with what happened and are drinking and eating with the guys. They then move onto attacking the rest of the girls who are attending a karate class , incapacitating the karate instructor Steve (Drew Berman, The Morning After) who looks a bit like Gabe Kaplan from 70s TV sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter (1975-1979), then forcing the girls to wrestle to the death and do a Busby Berkley dance routine, until the young ladies get tired of being tormented, and kicks their captor's asses quite handily.
it's a wild watch, it makes little sense, people don't act normal, and our trio of escapees are an odd bunch indeed, especially the ringleader who cares wat more about busting out hackneyed impersonations than raping, while Big Dick is all about the rape, wringing his hands with illicit lust and talking non-stop about not having got any in seven years, while telling all the women that they are about to get it the best they ever got! Homosexual Bruce is just sort of along for the ride, though he does seem pretty keen on karate instructor Steve.
There's not a lot here to love, but you now what? I do sort of love it, this was a first time watch for me but if I had seen this on TV or rented it on VHS as a kid I would have been all over it, it's just an excuse for young women to be running around with their titties out, practicing karate topless, and wearing revealing, white swimsuits with very low thread counts, plus we have pervy teachers, and lecherous dementos, but somehow, someway this slice of schoolgirl versus escaped pervert sexploitation romp moves along at a good clip and is a sleazy good time, it's poorly made all the way around, but still plenty entertaining.
Audio/Video: This is advertised as a 'New 4K-UHD Restoration from the original 35mm camera negatives', and while this is 1080p HD and not 4K this could have come from a 4K scan of the film elements. It generally looks solid with good colors, there does appear t have been some digital noise reduction applied but even still texture and detail are strong. Colors can appear faded in spots, blacks can intermittently be milky, and there is staining and discoloration evident, but on the whole still quite watchable. The sole audio come option is uncompressed English PCM 2.0 dual-mono with optional English subtitles, the track has a near constant low-key bed of hiss and pops and snaps, but dialogue, score and effects come through fine, for what this is it's better than I had anticipated.
Extras include a Archival Commentary by Bob Minor, Actor and Stuntman moderated by Elijah Drenner that while a bit laid back is pretty solid, Minor who played "Big Dick" Peters has a good memory of the shoot and is game to talk about his time making the film and all the pretty ladies he encountered. We also get a 3-min Trailer that should make you appreciate how good the actual film on the disc looks. The last extras is total junk, a 2-min "video featurette" 'Cuckoo for Pyschotronica' that is nothing but AI slop, with a script credited to ChatGPT and narration and music using Invideo AI - all I have to say about that is FUCK NO! There are so many film scholars, critics and bloggers out there who live and breathe grindhouse and sexploitation, and probably would do it for free, give them a job, and don't be putting this AI generated bullshit on your releases, stop it! Hey VCI, I wrote this review myself, I didn't ask fucking ChatGBT to write it for me, and I sure as shit do not want to be watching featurettes created by AI on your releases.
Onto the packaging, we get an overly busy Reversible Wrap that features artwork for both the Delinquent Schoolgirls and Carnal Madness titles, which do appreciate.
