Synopsis: Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar abandoned his throne and retired to the city of Angels where he has teamed up with LAPD detective Chloe Decker to take down criminals. Charming, charismatic and devilishly handsome, Lucifer has a way of manipulating people into confessing their deepest, darkest secrets, which helps Detective Decker deliver justice!
Now available on Blu-ray as a complete series, the TV series Lucifer tells the tale of the original fallen angel and is based on the DC Comics character created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg. The show aired on Fox before being cancelled, but then was revived as a Netflix original. If you're not familiar with it, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has abandoned Hell for L.A. where he runs the Lux nightclub and occasionally assists LAPD Det. Chloe Decker (Laura German, Hostel: Part II). It's a glossy and stylish show with a cool, sometimes deliciously diabolical premise with a terrific cast, a bit too slick for myself to be honest, when I think of the devil I guess I'm old fashioned, I want brimstone and fire, and while Ellis is quite charismatic as Lucifer it didn't satisfy my Satanic sweet tooth the way I would have wished for. That said, this is absolutely something my wife adores and is currently binging, but, just not my cup o' tea.
The 22-disc Blu-ray set arrives in a DVD-sized high capacity clear Epik-Pak, but at least each disc sits on its own hub, there are no stacked discs. It has a single-sided wrap, the reverse side of which lists the episodes and special features for the seasons. The discs themselves have a different color for each season, listing which season and number of disc, but not listing any episodes or extras on them, and the keepcase slides into a side-loading slipcase.
