On November 10, Hong Kong’s biggest ballistic superstar dominates New York City’s Chinatown when The Corruptor receives its worldwide premiere on 4K UHD. The high-caliber buddy-cop film stars Chow Yun-Fat (The Killer, Hard Boiled) and Mark Wahlberg (Boogie Nights), with James Foley (Glengarry Glen Ross) directing. This Dual Format release features both a 4K UHD and Blu-ray disc, with the film presented on both discs in a new 4K restoration from the original camera negative, along with special features.

NYPD Lieutenant Nick Chen (Chow Yun-Fat, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) isn’t thrilled when rookie Detective Danny Wallace (Mark Wahlberg, The Departed) is assigned to his Asian Gang Unit. Chen needs someone who doesn’t look like a tourist or a cop, but he’s stuck with Wallace because he needs the manpower. When the young Fukienese Dragons launch a shooting war against the established Tong mobsters in Chinatown, Chen seems less concerned with justice than preserving the balance of underworld power. Is Chen a corrupt cop? Can Wallace resist being compromised when a local business leader wants to thank him for his service? The film also stars Brian Cox (Succession), Paul Ben-Victor (The Wire), Byron Mann (The Man with the Iron Fists) and Kim Chan (The Fifth Element).

Special features include interviews with composer Carter Burwell, production designer David Brisbin and action director Robert Samuels, an archival audio commentary with director James Foley, From the (Under)Ground Up, an archival featurette on the making of The Corruptor, the UGK “Take It Off” music video, the theatrical trailer, and TV spots.

Also on November 10 is the worldwide 4K UHD premiere of Above The Law, the cinematic debut of martial arts superstar Steven Seagal (Under Siege). In this sizzling action/thriller, the action hero brings his Aikido skills to the mean streets of Chicago. This second Dual Format release from Toy Robot Video features both a 4K UHD and Blu-ray disc, with the film presented on both discs in a new 4K restoration from the original camera negative approved by director Andrew Davis (The Fugitive, Under Siege), along with special features.

Nico Toscani (Steven Seagal) is recruited by the CIA during the Vietnam War after mastering Aikido in Japan. He walks away from the agency and the war after sadistic operative Kurt Zagon (Henry Silva, Ocean’s 11) goes too far while interrogating a prisoner. Years later, Nico is a detective sergeant on the vice squad in his hometown of Chicago, cleaning up the Second City with his partner, Det. Delores “Jacks” Jackson (Pam Grier, Jackie Brown). A raid on a drug operation reveals something far more dangerous being smuggled into the community. An old CIA buddy warns him to drop the case and go into hiding with his wife (Sharon Stone, Basic Instinct) and baby, but Nico refuses to back down…because no one is above the law.

Special features include a new audio commentary with director Andrew Davis and actress Pam Grier, Sounds of Seagal, a new interview with composer David Michael Frank, an archival interview with Steven Seagal during the promotion of Above The Law, and the theatrical trailer, newly scanned in 2K from the interpositive.

On November 17, the colorful and dynamic tokusatsu fantasy Zipang receives its North American Blu-ray premiere. Director Kaizo Hayashi (Tokyo: The Last Megalopolis) delivers over-the-top action and hairstyles that make the movie feel like an anime or a video game of the era. While set in the age of the samurai, its characters battle with swords, six-shooters, lethal gadgets, and a touch of magic.

Jigoku Gokuraku Maru (Masahiro Takashima, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah) is an infamous samurai bandit whose price on his head has attracted bounty hunters from around the globe to Japan. Jigoku employs an arsenal of specialized swords with surprising gadgets for dealing with his various opponents. The sharpshooter Yuri the Pistol (Narumi Yasuda, Peacock King) sets her sights on him, and he soon grows fond of her. When Jigoku and his crew steal a legendary golden sword, they discover the treasure is a key to the mythical kingdom of Zipang. Their search for the golden city grows increasingly treacherous with an army of ninjas in hot pursuit.

Special features include a brand-new audio commentary by Jasper Sharp and Joe Hickinbottom, a stills gallery, and theatrical trailers.
